Abstract

In the study, Emotional Intelligence was applied to 154 school administrators working in Tokat province / Pazar district. According to the analysis, there is no significant relationship between school administrators' emotional intelligence and gender, age, and education level. According to the analysis results, it was determined that the emotional intelligence score showed a statistically significant difference according to professional seniority. When the average scores are examined, it is seen that the scores of the participants who have been working at the school for 1-5 years are higher. Managers' emotional intelligence capacities play a critical role in their ability to achieve organizational goals. This importance increases especially in places where sincere relationships are at the forefront, such as educational institutions. Potential divergences between teachers' and school administrators' perceptions of emotional intelligence may impact the successful achievement of institutional goals. Several studies have shown that school principals' emotional intelligence abilities can positively impact teachers' job satisfaction. However, it has been emphasized that there may sometimes be differences between how administrators perceive their own emotional intelligence abilities and how teachers perceive these abilities. Emotional intelligence is not limited to just understanding and managing one's own emotions; It also includes the ability to understand other individuals' emotions and respond appropriately to them. Therefore, it is important for school principals to be sensitive to their own emotional needs as well as those of teachers and other staff. In the field of education, managers should be encouraged to develop their emotional intelligence capacity. This can both create a more harmonious working environment within the school and increase the overall satisfaction and success of teachers and students. Finally, a sustained effort to educate and develop emotional intelligence should be critical for educational leaders. Especially in the face of changing educational dynamics and challenges, emotional intelligence may be the key to effective leadership. In this context, regular emotional intelligence training and seminars should be organized for education managers and opportunities should be provided for them to follow the developments in this field.
