Abstract

Within the scope of the study, a survey was conducted on 153 school administrators in Karatay district of Konya. The aim of the study is to compare the emotional labor of school administrators with their demographic characteristics. In our research, we examined the emotional labor levels of educational administrators according to gender, education level and school type. Although the results show that male managers have higher levels of emotional labor than women, this difference is not statistically significant. While the literature generally states that women are more active in the field of emotional labor, our study suggests that this difference may be related to sectoral or cultural characteristics. In terms of education level, no significant difference was found between undergraduate and graduate graduates in terms of emotional labor. This result shows that the level of education does not directly affect emotional labor, which is in line with the findings in the literature. On the other hand, no significant difference was detected between private and public school administrators in emotional labor levels according to school type, which shows that school type does not have a decisive effect on emotional labor. The findings suggest that more detailed research is needed to better understand the effects of various factors on emotional labor. This study reveals the role and importance of emotional labor in management practice and provides an in-depth look at how managers experience this burden.
